Music and Lyrics

It amazes me how tightly music is connected to memory. More than once this summer I have been stuck in traffic or cruising down Congress and the song "How Bizarre" by OMC came on the radio. Immediately I was transported back to 16, I had had my license a month, and my cousin asked me to drive her car in Houston. Terrified I agreed. I turned on the radio and the first song I found that wasn't in Spanish, was "How Bizarre". We weren't going very far, so the song pretty much lasted the majority of the ride and calmed my nerves.

There is a new version of "Every Step I Take" playing on the River. It is NOT the version we use at Camp LIFE, but I can't help dancing to it whenever it comes on. Yesterday I heard just a clip of the song "I am Free" by the Newsboys. It wasn't even the whole song...just snippet as part of an advertisment. But BOOM! I was in Nakatindi Hall dancing like a crazy white person with all of my incredible children.
